The GIDC workshop redesign isn’t just about construction—it’s about creating harmony between form and function. With three new rooms added and three existing ones reimagined, the space now houses six functional areas and a kitchen, all designed to work cohesively. Transparent asbestos sheets bring abundant natural light, eliminating the need for heavy artificial lighting during the day and connecting the interior with the rhythms of the outside world.
Fly ash and mortar form the foundation of this transformation, reflecting an environmentally conscious approach without compromising on durability. Each room has been meticulously planned to optimize space, offering practical solutions for housing, while maintaining a sense of openness.
The kitchen, positioned as a central hub, reflects the workshop’s communal spirit, blending utility with minimalistic charm. This is more than a renovation—it’s a reinvention, a space that embodies sustainability, functionality, and thoughtful design in every detail.
